Brotzeit’s 18th Oktoberfest bash is going to be its biggest ever

The celebration of the historic Bavarian beer festival, Oktoberfest, has long been a highly anticipated annual fixture at Singapore’s premier casual German restaurant chain Brotzeit.

But this year’s edition of the festivities promises to be bigger than ever before, as the brand will be marking its 18th birthday by pulling out all the stops to throw an Oktoberfest bash for the ages.

Key to this year’s uber Oktoberfest – running from Sep 3 to Oct 27 across Brotzeit’s four outlets in VivoCity, Katong, Raffles City and Westgate – is an entertainment lineup both electrifyingly traditional and intriguingly unconventional.

Where to celebrate Oktoberfest 2024 in Singapore

Germany’s unabashed celebration of all things beer and Bavarian food is back, and here are the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest 2024 in Singapore.

Oktoberfest started as a wedding party in 1810 for Bavarian royalty. Held in Munich over multiple days, it involved feasting, drinking, and entertainment. The celebration was held again the following year and again for the next 200 years, eventually morphing into what history considers today as the largest volksfest (people’s festival) in the world.

It is also the world’s oldest beer festival. About 6 million litres of beer are consumed at the original Oktoberfest each year, much of it from a one-litre beer mug called a stein. To go along with the drinks are dishes like pretzel, roast chicken, pork sausages, pork knuckle, and meatloaf.
